Hengtong Cable Australia will be supplying 179km of 33kV cable to RJE Global for the Yandin Wind Farm in Western Australia.

The 214MW Wind Farm is being built near the town of Dandaragan, approximately 175km to the north of Perth, and is expected to be completed by mid-2020. It will boast a stunningly good capacity factor of 50 per cent, its backers and technology providers say.

Once complete this will be Western Australia’s largest wind farm using 51 industry-leading Vestas wind turbines

each with a rated capacity of 4.2MW, generating around $400 million in investment and 150 jobs during the construction phase.

Vestas is to keep Yandin operating at maximum efficiency through a 25-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement, designed to maximise uptime and ensure optimised performance of the project. The service agreement covers scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the wind turbines, electrical and civil balance of plant.
