The Business Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa visited Aberdare

On 4 September, Yansong Rong, the Business Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa and representatives from chairman companies of the South Africa Economic & Trade Association visited the Hengtong South Africa (Aberdare Cables) factory in Port Elizabeth.

Haiyan Song, the Co-CEO of Aberdare welcomed warmly and received the honored guests on behalf of the Hengtong South Africa (Aberdare Cables).

In the meeting, Haiyan Song gave a brief introduction and operation about the company after the mergence of Hengtong and Aberdare, and specially shared some thinking about the local operation and management when Chinese companies in overseas.

The South Africa Economic & Trade Association was registered in August of 2011 and founded in April of 2012. It serves to build connections between members, enterprises and various circles of society of South Africa as a bridge. From now on, it has over 120 company members including Chinese companies and organizations from Asia from industries involved in equipment manufacturing, mineral resources, transportation and logistics, communication services, culture media, energy and financial trading, agriculture, aquaculture, real estate.  In the Association General Membership Meetingheld in July this year, Hengtong in South Africa (Aberdare Cables) was elected as the EXCO. member of the fourth Executive Committee of the South Africa Economic & Trade Association.

 

Background

Aberdare Cables was established in 1946 and based in Johannesburg, the South Africa economic central city. With over 50 years of stable development, now it has grown to be the largest cable manufacturer in South Africa and has 3 plants in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Pietermaritzburg. In July of 2016, Hengtong completed the mergence with Aberdare. After the mergence, Hengtong keeps up with the pace of social transformation in South Africa, actively makes marketing and product strategy, and speeds up the transformation and upgrading to put the company into a leading manufacturer of wire and cable products and also a service providers offering integrated power solutions in the African region.
